The giraffe graphic on this T-Shirt was designed by 12 year old Freya.
Freya is in year 8 in High School. She is the eldest of two children. She has an 8 year old brother called Fynle who is currently in remission from a brain tumour. Fynle was diagnosed with a brain tumour, a Medullablastoma on the 24th May 2019. He underwent 13.5 hour surgery to remove the tumour. He then spent seven weeks in hospital and underwent further brain surgery. From there we travelled to Essen in Germany for Proton beam therapy for six weeks returning in September that year. Following a 6 week break he received 9 months of chemotherapy. He has recently finished chemo and we received the fantastic news that he is in remission.
Mum and Dad are Phil and Nerys and we live in Ruthin, North Wales. Freya’s hobbies are gardening, wildlife, music and just being outdoors. Freya and the family first met the Joshua tree whilst in Alder Hey hospital and from the start they have been so supportive to the family, even givingFreyaone to one time as she has been a complete rock to Fynle throughout out his incredible journey. They have joined in the activity days and as a result of Covid have been doing on line craft classes with the tremendous staff.
10% of sales profits of this T-Shirt will go to the Joshua Tree Foundation to further help young children like Hyde and his sister.
Every family's experience with childhood cancer is different and their needs are unique. The Joshua Tree charity works with families and schools to provide support that is tailored to their journey. Check out their website at:
